Today is the first day of spring!! Hooray! Mitchell grew up having a candy hunt on the first day of spring so as to preserve the sacredness of the Easter holiday. We decided to carry on that fun tradition so today was our candy hunt! Audrey caught right on to the fact that there is candy inside the eggs and enjoyed finding them and loading up her basket. Her 2 year old attention span didn't last long enough though so there are still lots of eggs still hidden! There will be more hunting and finding all week I'm sure!

Basement Progress
The contractors started framing our basement on Monday! I took some pictures yesterday and I hope to document the progress as they go. This week they did all of the framing and electrical work. Very fun!

Guest bedroom. Yes, you read that right...for guests! Come visit! |
We had the builder push out this wall in our craft/hobby room a little bit and put in 2 closets! Won't that be awesome! |

Knock Off Wood
In effort to learn something new and to give my kids something really great, I decided to build a toy kitchen set! I got free plans online from a website by Ana White, she makes some of the most amazing pieces of furniture! The best part is she shares her knowledge, plans and diagrams on her site for FREE!! Wahoo!
Anyway, I purchased all of the wood and cut it about 2 weeks ago but this bad boy set me back time wise. Isn't the power and seriousness of this compressor intimidating!?! It was for me. I let it hang out in the closet for a week before I mustered up the guts to try it out. After much reading of manuals, and watching youtube tutorials I went for it. It was easy! And so fast! (A big thanks to my mother in law for lending her compressor and nailer!)
I started with the sink unit and it went from this:
to this:
to this:
All in a little over an hour! I am so glad I decided to conquer the power tool because it made this project SO fast and easy! I am beyond excited about having a toy kitchen set too! It has got to be one of my very favorite toys ever and I already know that Audrey will love it! I am also really excited to have a sturdy wooden set that will look great and last a long time! Not to mention the price, a similar set from Pottery Barn Kids costs over $700! Whew! I'll post the finished product once I have painted and decorated it. That will be the fun part!

Our New Home In Utah
Here's what we've been up to in the last month since we moved. Of course buying our house took up a lot of the time but we've been able to do a lot of other fun stuff too!
The nickelcade! I was a skeptic but it was actually so much fun!
We played with the cousins! Instant friends, how fun!
We went to Moms and Tots morning at Jump on It. It's a trampoline and inflatable jump house place. It took Audrey a little bit to warm up but she had a blast! I had fun too but my poor pregnant body hated me the rest of the day for running around on trampolines all morning!
Audrey learned the word 'dance.' When Mitchell gets home from work she loves to put on some music and dance!
We went to a Dr. Suess birthday party/story time! We got to listen to some fun stories and decorate Cat in the Hat cookies!
The weather has been steadily warming up and we've gotten to play at the park several times! Play! Play! Play!
On Saturday Daddy went to Utah Code Camp. It was a full day of lectures and classes about computer programming. We girls decided to drop him off and actually go have fun! *FYI, Mitchell loved the code camp so it was a win, win.* Audrey and I went to the Children's Museum in SLC then spent the rest of the day with Grandma and Grandpa Harris! We had a great time!
This was an actual life flight helicopter on display at the museum. So cool!
Here's me! 23 weeks along and measuring 32! Yikes!
Whew! After all that we need a nap!
