Don't they look so big!!?? |
Up to this point Redick and Reid have hit milestones pretty much at the same time, or within a day or two of each other. Now they are beginning to develop unique preferences and skills. It's fun!
Redick has developed a little bit more in fine motor skills. He has the pincer grasp down! Insert Cheerio in mouth, insert Cheerio in mouth... This also helps him steal toys from Reid. Redick continues to be a very curious boy and moves around everywhere he can investigating. He is still a bit more mellow in some ways than Reid. Maybe patient is the word. When they wake up from their naps Redick nearly always lets Reid do the crying to let me know they are awake. I guess Redick figures he can save his effort since Reid does a great job!
Reid is our big eater! Maybe he feels the need to catch up to Redick since Redick is a little bigger than him. Reid can eat an amazing amount for a little guy! When I introduced the boys to solid foods Reid took to anything I gave him right away! Now when I feed them (at the same time) Reid bangs on his tray when it's not his turn for a bite! I can't keep up! Also, Reid just cut his third tooth (top right) and the 4th (top left) is really close. He must know that more teeth translates to more food! Redick so far has 2 teeth on the bottom. In the last few days Reid has learned to clap when he is happy or proud of himself. I love it! I love that he can communicate a little bit like when Audrey is playing with him or when he stands up, he'll clap.
Both of them are very mobile! They stand up all the time where ever they can hold on to something, even just the wall! They can both stand for about 10 seconds unassisted and are highly motivated to walk. On a couple of occasions each of them have taken a step but I wouldn't say they can walk just yet. Very soon!
R&R also enjoy playing with each other. They like to wrestle and I am amazed that they already know that the object of the game is to pin the other in a head lock! I think boys are a little different than girls! It's fun to see them interact with each other and laugh together. I think a part of me will be sad for my next child if he/she doesn't have a twin for company!
They are really happy kids. We have a great predictable daily schedule and that makes life so great. The last month or 2 feels like we are in a sweet spot will all 3 kids as far as behavior and routine. I don't want to jinx myself by bragging too much but life is great right now!
Audrey is loving the warmer weather and the sunshine. Today we have been playing outside all day! She looked out the window this morning and said "It's a shiny day! I NEED to go outside!" She is going through a fun phase of wanting to sing songs all the time. She loves Primary songs and other fun songs. I am pretty impressed at her repertoire too!
