9 Month Stats

I took the babies to the doctor last week for their 9 month visit. I just want to record their stats here. I can't seem to find Audrey's 9 month stats to compare though. Bummer.

Here are my growing boys:

Redick
height: 28.5"               47%
weight: 16lbs 9 oz      5%
head: 45cm                45%

Reid
height: 28"                 26%
weight: 16lbs 3oz      3%
head: 45cm               45%

A blog post is no good unless it has pictures of the kids! Here they are!

Being silly and grabbing at the camera

I took Audrey out yesterday morning in her Easter dress before church for a little photo shoot. She wasn't very cooperative because the sun was bright but even still, I got too many cute ones to choose from! Here are quite a few of my pretty girl.

Her hair is getting so long!

Bring Back!

I mentioned in the last post that Audrey has been on a singing kick lately. She is always requesting that we sing a particular song "together." I'm happy she let me record this. For the longest time she was really bashful about singing in front of other people. Enjoy, Bring Back!

9 Months!

Here they are at 9 months!

Redick in the front hamming it up!

Rawrrr!

Reid is wondering why his bro has to be so weird for the pictures

That's better, just get him out! Haha!

Don't they look so big!!??

Up to this point Redick and Reid have hit milestones pretty much at the same time, or within a day or two of each other. Now they are beginning to develop unique preferences and skills. It's fun!

Redick has developed a little bit more in fine motor skills. He has the pincer grasp down! Insert Cheerio in mouth, insert Cheerio in mouth... This also helps him steal toys from Reid. Redick continues to be a very curious boy and moves around everywhere he can investigating. He is still a bit more mellow in some ways than Reid. Maybe patient is the word. When they wake up from their naps Redick nearly always lets Reid do the crying to let me know they are awake. I guess Redick figures he can save his effort since Reid does a great job!

Reid is our big eater! Maybe he feels the need to catch up to Redick since Redick is a little bigger than him. Reid can eat an amazing amount for a little guy! When I introduced the boys to solid foods Reid took to anything I gave him right away! Now when I feed them (at the same time) Reid bangs on his tray when it's not his turn for a bite! I can't keep up! Also, Reid just cut his third tooth (top right) and the 4th (top left) is really close. He must know that more teeth translates to more food! Redick so far has 2 teeth on the bottom. In the last few days Reid has learned to clap when he is happy or proud of himself. I love it! I love that he can communicate a little bit like when Audrey is playing with him or when he stands up, he'll clap.

Both of them are very mobile! They stand up all the time where ever they can hold on to something, even just the wall! They can both stand for about 10 seconds unassisted and are highly motivated to walk. On a couple of occasions each of them have taken a step but I wouldn't say they can walk just yet. Very soon!

R&R also enjoy playing with each other. They like to wrestle and I am amazed that they already know that the object of the game is to pin the other in a head lock! I think boys are a little different than girls! It's fun to see them interact with each other and laugh together. I think a part of me will be sad for my next child if he/she doesn't have a twin for company!

They are really happy kids. We have a great predictable daily schedule and that makes life so great. The last month or 2 feels like we are in a sweet spot will all 3 kids as far as behavior and routine. I don't want to jinx myself by bragging too much but life is great right now!

Audrey is loving the warmer weather and the sunshine. Today we have been playing outside all day! She looked out the window this morning and said "It's a shiny day! I NEED to go outside!" She is going through a fun phase of wanting to sing songs all the time. She loves Primary songs and other fun songs. I am pretty impressed at her repertoire too!

Chalk in the driveway day!

Park time!

A rare picture of all 3 looking at the camera and looking pretty good too!

8 Months!

Will time stop accelerating?! 8 months have flown by!! Seriously, whoa. These little guys are getting so big and so fun! Favorite activity: pulling themselves up on EVERYTHING and walking around showing off by only holding on with one hand. Redick (on the right) has even taken an unassisted step or two on a couple of occasions. It wont be long before they are walking!

I really can't complain though. We are in a wonderful phase right now. Audrey is getting more and more mature, independent and helpful. Redick and Reid are well adjusted to a healthy schedule and are very happy boys. Sometimes it feels like a circus to go places but at least we can go places! Life is great!

Smoothie

I have so much I should catch up on with regards to this poor neglected blog! This wont be the catch up post though, just a cute picture of Audrey. We had smoothies for breakfast this morning. I let her pick a straw and while she was picking I started feeding the boys, apparently she couldn't make up her mind on which straw to choose! Haha!

Good Morning Brother!

This morning I heard the babies talking in their room after they woke up. This is not an uncommon occurence but I thought it was so cute to see them standing in their cribs greeting each other for the day!

Overdue Update

I imported my pictures from the camera to the computer last night and I realized that I am way overdue for an update! The holidays flew by and we were busy!

Here's the quick catch up!

Our first significant snow storm came in early November. It was the perfect storm because most of the snowfall happened at night. On Saturday morning we had about 4-5 inches of fresh snow and it was sunny! We bundled up and met our neighbors outside for a fun morning of making snowmen and warming up with hot chocolate.

My brother got married the week of Thanksgiving!! He married the most wonderful girl named Alison and they were married in the Mesa, AZ temple. It was wonderful! We made the trip down to AZ and decided to do some touristing on the way down. We drove from our house to Grand Canyon National Park and stayed the night. I don't want to relive what it was like to share a hotel room with a 2 year old and 2 infants...use your imagination... The next morning we explored the Grand Canyon. It was GRAND!! Seriously, I had NO idea how big it really is! Amazing! We decided to carpe diem and took a helicopter ride over the canyon. SO FANTASTIC!!! Even Audrey got to ride and she loved it!

I realize only one of my twinners is pictured. Redick was asleep.

What a great couple!
My amazing grandma drove home from California with me and the kids and was a wonderful help! She stayed at our house for a few days cooking up a storm in the kitchen, feeding us delicious meals, cleaning up after herself, and watching the kids for us while Mitchell and I went on dates! It was AMAZING! THANK YOU GRANDMA!!

We came home from a date to find out that the babies had refused the bottles we left and had cried themselves to sleep on Grandma's lap. I'm impressed she was still smiling!
On December 12th Redick and Reid turned 6 months old!! I don't remember the first 6 months of Audrey's life flying by as they have this time! In another 6 months they will be 1 and no longer babies! Unbelievable!

Here are the stats:
REDICK:
Height: 26.5 in        45%
Weight: 14 lbs 1oz    3%
Head Circ: 43cm    41%

REID:
Height: 25.5 in        9%
Weight: 13 lbs 14oz  2%
Head Circ: 43cm      41%

Both babies are totally mobile now! They are in the in-between stage where they are able to crawl but it's still faster to army crawl, scoot and roll. They can get anywhere they want though. Their napping schedule is pretty predictable and they are really happy babies. They started eating purees a few weeks ago and they LOVE it! So far they have loved sweet potato, carrots, green beans, peas, banana squash, acorn squash, bananas, pears, peaches and tri tip steak. That's right, steak. We're trying to put hair on their chests early! They have also tried unsweetened applesauce, Reid loved it, Redick thought it was way too sour!

We got to spend Christmas in California this year. We spread the celebrations over 3 days in California with all of the extended family then we came home and continued with a few more presents! Audrey has now been asking for presents every day. Haha! Santa was apparently really busy this year so he promised to bring something super awesome to those patient kids who were willing to wait until after the big Christmas rush. After we got home from CA this was waiting for Audrey in the basement! She has been getting a great workout the last couple of days!

Well that's the short version of the last couple of months for us! Happy New Year!
